You can listen to anything and be a poser, but the ones who aren't can tell the difference every time. wait, did you just describe grant? just kidding, sweetcheeks. |

Do you deny that you can look at what someone does, and what advantage they gain from it, and from that derive that their actions were a logical attempt to gain that end? ![]() |

Hmm, me too: * Incantation - Onward to Golgotha * Burzum - Burzum * At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours A lot can be learned from those... |

Since people could just go listen to Yes or King Crimson, but pick Opeth, they are most likely preferring a digestible product that APPEARS to be a heady product, as that way they get both digestible music and an identity as the kind of deep person who likes prog. i lisen to opeth because i like how it sounds and i have a mac. |

_____________________________ [Feb 3,2010 3:08pm - Lamp ""] Another key point I think is being left out of both arguments is that people don't always know why they listen to what they do or why they do anything they do... some people will figure it out. Some people will move on. Some will never advance and just never think. The argument becomes pretty gray at that point but honestly I'm still siding with Conservationist overall. |
