A tour 2005[views:1473][posts:11]_______________________________________ [Sep 1,2004 12:14pm - Joe/NotCommon ""] I got contacted by a band from Brazil who wants to tour the US, and I want to help them, but I looked at a plane ticket from Rio to Boston, for 5 people it was $4,880. Which means with a 100 dollar guarantee, 49 gigs. How feasible is such an endeavour? I was thinking if I paired them with one of my bands, and try for a 200 dollar guarantee, but what band would want to tour DIY style for 2 months? Opinions? |

With 49 days, that's almost 2 months of work, if not more, plus down time and days off. That's a big venture. I wish I could say something about it being a good venture but it's HIGH HIGH Risk. |

If they can afford it I think it would be worth it for them, travelling to America and getting some of the money back by doing something they love. |

Your financial math only works if they eat only in soup kitchens and hitchhike everywhere. Its hard for 4 spics carrying instruments to hitch a ride in the U.S. |
