STRETCH ARM STRONG REMINDS FANS THAT 'MEAT IS STILL MURDER' IN NEW PETA2[views:7243][posts:2]_____________________________________ [Aug 2,2005 5:02pm - the_reverend ""] STRETCH ARM STRONG REMINDS FANS THAT 'MEAT IS STILL MURDER' IN NEW PETA2 PSA Hardcore Punk Band Sponsors Giveaway on peta2.com Norfolk, Va. - Between the tail-end of their celebrated European tour and the launch of their 22-city North American summer tour, Stretch Arm Strong lead singer Chris McClane and guitarist David Sease made time to pose for a brand-new pro-vegetarian public service announcement for their pals at peta2-PETA's youth division. In the ad, Chris and David, both of whom have gone vegetarian, appear in an exclusive photo next to The Smiths-inspired tagline "Meat Is Still Murder" and remind their legions of fans around the world that they don't have to support cruel factory farms and the "deplorable meat industry" when great veggie options abound. Says Chris, "If people stopped eating animals, I think they would feel better; people's health would improve, and I think we would make things a lot better for the animals who are stuck in these horrible conditions." If fans are getting a little restless waiting for the band's new album Free at Last (WPO Records) to drop on September 13, peta2 has great news: Visitors to peta2.com can register to win a free CD-before the album is available in stores-and other great prizes. The grand-prize winner will also receive a pair of pro BMXer Taj Mihelich's signature Etnies-nonleather, of course. This isn't the first time that Stretch Arm Strong and peta2 have teamed up to promote compassion for animals. The band's Welcome to the Family and Hardcore Against Fur tours were cosponsored by peta2, and a huge peta2.com banner is used as a backdrop at Stretch Arm Strong concerts. Stretch Arm Strong joins an ever-growing list of musicians-including Converge, As I Lay Dying, Further Seems Forever, and Dillinger Escape Plan-that have teamed up with peta2 to inspire kids to challenge outdated, cruel attitudes about animals. Also featured on peta2.com are celebrity interviews, message boards, merchandise, downloadable voice-mail recordings, and chances to win great prizes like free concert tickets, iPods, and more.
