so I tried playing some q3 with a friend the other night and my ping was like 500 so I couldn't... the next day it was the same thing, I opened up a dos prompt and ran 'netstat' to see what connections my computer is making and it was continuously making smtp connections with random servers... here is a short section of it: "TCP nemesis:4433 *.mail5.psmtp.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4434 relay.gte.net:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4435 nc.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4437 na.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4438 cda.mrs.umn.edu:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4439 mc4.law16.hotmail.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4440 smtp-in.compaq.net:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4442 194.18.12.169:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4446 relay3.aport.ru:smtp FIN_WAIT_2 TCP nemesis:4447 fix.your.open.relay.or.die.net:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4448 mx.mail.lycos.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4450 mc2.law16.hotmail.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4451 mc2.law16.hotmail.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4453 mx-ha01.web.de:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4456 payne.mail.mindspring.net:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4457 mx.mail.lycos.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4458 yc.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4459 205-158-62-24.outblaze.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4461 yb.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4463 209.219.238.227:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4465 za.mx.aol.com:smtp TIME_WAIT TCP nemesis:4466 mx.mail.lycos.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4471 na.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT TCP nemesis:4473 yb.mx.aol.com:smtp SYN_SENT" So I try to find fixes, thinking its the blaster worm, but nothing. I downloaded norton antivirus pro (hacked) and it didn't find it. This virus i have actually almost killed norton.. Norton has a feature that pops up a window everytime you send an e-mail... well I thought I shut that feature off and I woke up to about 640 norton popup windows in just about an hour I fell asleep for saying that the connection couldn't be made. I have no idea what virus I have, but it seems that it starts out really slow, as in I'll reboot and be fine for like a half hour but as I keep it online it starts to make more and more connections. Rev, any idea what I have and how to rid of it? :satancross:
