I was trying to look up a Jackson Randy Rhoads V's exact model name, and the seller doesnt know. I asked for the serial number: its J300002. Does anyone know where I can find out what exact model it is by just having the serial #? Jacksons site doesnt really have contact info I guess.

Muchos Gracias

there are a few different versions of the rhoads V
RR1, RR3, RR5, RX10D
those are the ones I know of... i don't know that you can look up a guitar by serial number without the help of jackson... if you know which line of guitars yours is in, it will help. pro series, js series, and usa select series are the three series that feature rhoads Vs.

All I could find was this:

http://www.jacksonguitars.com/resources/serial_numbers.html

Theres no contact info at all on the site. Who knows, maybe it was made in Japan and there's no serial # info online for them. I'll just sign up for some random jackson online forum and go from there...

a jackson serial number will only tell you if its a NECK THROUGH rhoads. if its some cheapo crap korean production model, you wont know. just post a link to the auction and ill tell you what model it is.

let me know what the specs are.

original floyd, liscensed floyd, or string thru body?

solid color finish?

finished or unfinished neck?

pickup brand?

inlays?

pick guard or no pick guard?

1. I cant tell if its liscensed or not (the pic isnt high quality), but I know its a black floyd rose

2. Solid black finish

3. Finished neck

4. Jackon labeled pickups

5. Standard pearl dot inlay

6. Black Pick guard

I'm pretty sure it's a neck thru, I'll email once again to check. Thanks.

OH! And on the head, it says "Professional" after Jackson. I'll ask what it says on the cover to the left of "Jackson"

Yeah they didn't keep records for those. I have a soloist "professional" and it's made in Japan, neck-thru, rosewood fretboard, standard crap jackson electronics. All in all, a pretty damn good playing/sounding guitar, especially at the low price I picked mine up for (300). I would say they were probably originally priced around 800-1000, and I believe they were produced in the mid-late 90's. anyone with any other info?

btw when I said good sounding, I meant after a pickup swap. in that guitar I have a trembucker and am pretty satisfied with it, your mileage may vary..

sounds like a lower-to-mid end import. Probably japanese or korean.

guitars with similar specs typically sell for around 300-350 used

yeah, its a PS series rhoads, they retailed 800ish new when they were in production. made in japan. i think they stopped production on those in 98 or 99.
