Justanotherscene.com Appreciation (for those who remember)[views:2058][posts:16]________________________________ [Mar 25,2009 9:52am - xmikex ""] For those who weren't old enough to remember (or were just posers), there used to be a website called Justanotherscene.com. It was a text based site (simple dark blue Arial font on a light blue background) that posted show listings, and classifieds for people looking to join bands, or sell gear. Metal bands, punk bands, hardcore bands, emo, pop punk, every show you could think of was posted there. Any night of the week that you felt like seeing live music you could just goto Justanotherscene and there was always at least a handful of shows playing that night. The info was all there. You'd mapquest the directions, get in your car, and go see some music. There were never any banner ads. It didn't rely on Myspace bulletins to gain popularity. There was no messageboard. No social networking aspects. No profiles. No avatars. Pre-Worldmovesfast (whatever that is), Pre-Bridge Nine, before Jeremy Saffer had a book deal, before Johnny Cupcakes was playing lawn darts with Matt Damon. Justanotherscene FTW. |
