One with wood just at the base of the stake, one with wood stacked and laid on the person. and then one of just a circle of wood a few feet outside of the stake. They found the circle of wood was the worst death. The other 2 methods the person would die within a few minutes from either smoke inhalation or inhaling the superheated air. But the circle of wood just slowly raise the temperature and the person would get third degree burns over their entire body. They could live for 20 minutes or so before they finally burned down to their organs.[/QUOTE]
