Yeah, I got an annoyed look from a lady at the Pike toll one time for paying with a 20 bill. She said snarkly, "don't you have anything smaller?" 1) If I had something smaller don't you think I would have given it to you already? 2) YOUR WHOLE JOB IS TO MAKE CHANGE. DEAL WITH IT!
I haven't had problems so much with making change but I had 2 separate incidents where I really thought a toll collector was going to get out and punch me. In one incident I held out my money and this gigantic black dude who looked like he was pissed way before I got there violently swiped at it, smacking both the dollar bill and change out of my hand. He stood there seriously fuming and glaring at me like I just canceled the Jeffersons. I told him don't look at me like I just did that, but it didn't make him any happier so I left. Another time I was catching the death stare from this old white dude as I pulled up. I handed him a dollar, and then dug some change out of my center console. The whole exchange took about 10 seconds, but every time I looked over he was glaring at me all pissed off. I handed up the change, and he just kept getting madder and madder. I finally just shook my head not knowing what the fuck to make of this guy, and pulled out. As soon as I put my foot on the gas he comes running out of the booth. When I looked in the rear view mirror he was in the middle of the road screaming at me and shaking his fist in the air like he was Charles Bronson.
