armageddonday said:
My name is Anne, I own a record store in Providence. As I said we book mainly touring bands (punk, HC, grind, and metal). We got the Exhumed tour last year, Impaled, Pungent Stench, Rotten Sound/Phobia, and more obscure punk hardcore bands (Forca Macabra, Selfish, and much more). I booked my first show 11 years ago in France (that's where I'm from), never really stopped since then. Yeah, we're really not attacking anyone here. We just want to stress the importance of looking around to figure out what's going on, for the sake of the bands/scene etc. I think it's important to work together.
yeah, as far as stressing that point, I think making sure you're not booking against a really big show is a good idea for smaller promoters, as the small guy is probably gonna lose out versus a bigger show. And yeah, Anne, I just wanted to point out how much I appreciate the international thing you do. I don't know anyone in America right now that has the track record you have with bringing European music and other non-Domestic music to this country. You've done a bang up job and I think Armageddon fills that niche that most of us don't know how to fill. I mean, it's not hard to really book US touring bands, but international bands have a lot more riding on their tour.
